  1. XIX century

    The beginning of the Kuban electricity system - construction of small substations in the region.

  2. 1920

    Soviet power established in the Kuban, all industrial businesses nationalised.

  3. 1921

    Electric department under the Kuban-Black Sea council of national economy to manage electricity facilities in the Kuban.

    In total there were 353 electricity stations operating in the Kuban with a total capacity of 13.7 megawatts; 16В 200 electric lamps and 621 electric motors were connected to the network.

    The Vodeltram association, which included urban and utility services for water supply, transport (trams) and electricity support of the town. There were 45 kilometres of power line, the electricity networks were rated for a tension of 2 kilovolts.

  4. 1930s

    North Caucasus Energy Department (Sevkavenergo) was set up to manage energy facilities in the Kuban.

    In 1934 Sevkavenergo was divided into two independent departments - Azcherenergo (Rostov na Donu) and Sevkavenergo (Pyatigorsk).

  5. 1944

    Separation from Azcherenergo of Krasnodarenergo District Energy Department, whose main areas of activity were production, distribution and sales of electricity and thermal energy, restoration and development of energy systems, monitoring energy use and overseeing operation of power plants of organisations in the Kuban. Under the jurisdiction of Krasnodarenergo were independent as self supporting organisations were electricity stations, substations, district electricity networks, power supply, a repair and engineering works, central warehouse, environmental survey bureau, and a production and research laboratory.

  6. end 50s - beginning 60s

    Construction of 110 and 220 kilovolt main distribution lines with for connection with energy systems in the south of Russia and Transcaucasia, electrification of the railway system in Krasnodar Region, construction of electricity transmission facilities, electrification of rural centres of population.

  7. 1963

    Urban and rural electricity grid organisations transferred from Regional Department for Public Utilities to Krasnodarenergo.

  8. 1972 - 1975

    Fitting of the first two gas turbine installations in the USSR each with a capacity of 11 megawatts. The total capacity of the thermal power station, block and the two gas turbines was 959 megawatts.

  9. 1970 - 1980

    Significant increase in volume of construction of new electricity distribution lines related to the explosive growth in electricity consumption. The total length of lines grew to 90В 000 kilometres, and the number of 35-500 kilovolt substations exceeded 700.

  10. 1988

    Krasnodarenergo abolished and in its place Krasnodar Production Association of Power Supply and Electrification (Krasnodarenergo) set up.

  11. 1993

    At privatisation Krasnodarenergo was reformed as joint stock company Krasnodarenergo. In addition to electricity network organisations it included as branches the Krasnodar Thermal Electricity Station, Energonadzor, repair and construction organisations, a training complex, a holiday hotel, and a Pioneer camp.

    49% of shares in the Company were transferred as payment of equity capital to EES Rossii and the remaining 51% were acquired by members of the labour collective and others with the right to concessions in accordance with the State programme for privatisation.

  12. 2004 - 2005

    During restructuring of the electricity sector in Russia Kubanenergo disengaged from service and non-core operations and dispatch functions by splitting them off into separate organisations: operating and dispatch management was transferred to SO EES, established by Krasnodarenergoremont, Krasnodarenergosetremont, Energetik and Plamya, and the non profit Kubanenergo training centre was set up.

  13. 2006

    As part of restructuring the sector the following were separated from Kubanenergo: Kubanskaya Generiruyuschaya Kompaniya (generating capacity), Kubanskaya Energosbitovaya Kompaniya (providing electricity, buying electricity on the wholesale market and delivering it to end users).

  14. 2008

    From 1 July Kubanenergo became an independent company in MRSK Holding, which received a block of voting shares in the Company as succession to title according to the spin-off balance sheet as the result of structuring of EES Russii.

    The main function of the Company within MRSK Holding is taking part in the development of the electricity sector in Russia with regard to the distribution network.
