The main principle of health and safety work is recognising and guaranteeing the priority of the lives and health of the Company’s employees over production results.
With the aim of providing safe and appropriate working conditions for employees at all stages of the production process there has been a Statement on the System of Health and Safety Management in force in the Company since 2010 which meets all the requirements of GOST 12.0.230-2007, the international OHSAS 18001 standard and inter-state standards in managing health and safety, as well as the requirements of labour law in the Russian Federation. The Statement sets out in a integrated system the health and safety management and functions of particular sections and employees at the Company when executing normative legal acts of the Russian Federation, Krasnodar Region and the Republic of Adigea, as well as decisions by Company management in health and safety and production safety.
Ensuring safe working conditions and health and safety at Kubanenergo and their corresponding established requirements is part of the duties of managers at all levels of the Company.
Actions to avoid industrial accidents in 2011 were defined by an order by Kubanenergo of 11 January 2011 On Results of Work on Health and Safety in 2010 and Tasks for 2011 to Reduce Industrial Accidents, and included the following:
- work to raise awareness among Company employees;
- ensuring equipment is in a safe condition;
- advocating observance of health and safety rules;
- monitoring observance of health and safety rules;
- ensuring safe movement of traffic;
- ensuring industrial safety;
- organising monitoring of health and safety action.
All actions planned for 2011 were completed.
To preserve the health of Company employees in 2011 protective equipment and appliances to ensure the total safety of production work were acquired to a total value of 78.6 million rubles.
