Staff training and development

One of the most important tools for developing workers’ labour and personal potential is systemised, planned and constant professional training.

The staff training system in the Company allows for not only constant ongoing training, but also professional retraining taking into account changing production conditions.

Staff training is carried out in the following basic forms: staff training and retraining, training for a second profession; ongoing training; short vocational courses (1 to 2 weeks); short professional training courses for engineers and technical workers in accordance with the Rules for Work with Staff in the Electrical Energy Sector, seminars, compulsory staff training in areas under the control of Rostekhnadzor.

In accordance with the Plan for Training and Ongoing Training for Staff at Kubanenergo 4 308 people completed training in 2011 (55.3%) of the average number of employees), of whom 1 437 were managers, 943 specialists, and 1 928 blue collar workers.

The key partner for Kubanenergo in the field of professional training for production personnel is the Kubanenergo Training Centre, whose founder and owner is the Company. During 2011 3 576 of the Company’s employees completed training courses at the Kubanergo Training Centre, 86% of the average number of employees undergoing training in the accounting year.

Training was carried out on the following programmes:

As part of work carried out by the Company on energy saving and energy efficiency qualifications of staff were raised accordingly: during the accounting year 86 employees took part in a training seminar on the Carrying Out Energy Asssessment to Improve Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving programme at the Kubanenergo Training Centre.

In addition to ongoing training and short courses for employees at the Kubanenergo Training Centre the Company collaborated with specialist educational establishments for higher professional education in 2011, including the Kuban State University (Krasnodar), the Southern Federal University (Gelendzhik), the South Russia State Technical University (Novocherkasskii Polytechnic Institute) (Novocherkassk, the Azov-Black Sea State Agro-Engineering Academy (Zernograd). In addition to this 15 of the Company’s employees were send for training in Management Organisation at the Moscow State Technical University in 2011.

Retraining and ongoing training of staff is also carried out by other educational establishments. In 2011 the main partners of the Company in this area were Energopersonal, the St Petersburg Energy Ongoing Training Institute, the Stavropol Training Centre and Progress.

Within the framework of the long term Federal Programme to develop education in the field of Developing and Implementing Programmes to Modernise Professional Educational Systems in Subjects of the Russian Federation 2010-2014, an Agreement of Cooperation was concluded between the MRSK Holding and the Administration of Krasnodar Region. Kubanenergo is the responsible executor for this Agreement, whose aim is to improve professional education systems in order to provide qualified staff for electricity distribution sector.

The Agreement sets out the following:

It is planned that the experience gained in improving vocational educational systems in Krasnodar Region will be extended to Astrakhan Region, Volgograd Region, Rostov Region. Stavropol Region. the Republic of Adigea, Dagestan, Kabardino)Balkariya and Chechnya.

To develop systems of collaboration with higher and vocational secondary educational establishments the Company concluded an Agreement of Cooperation with the South Russia State Technical University (Novocherkassk Polytechnical Institute) in 2011. The Agreement provides for cooperation between all the parties in the fields of education, science and practical science, as well as organisation of training, retraining and ongoing training of employees at Kubanenergo.
