Staffing levels and structure

In 2011 the average number of employees was 7 624, an increase in comparison with the previous year of 46, or 0.6%. This change was for the most part due to an increase in the number of employees in the division responsible for construction of Olympic facilities.

The main workforce capacity at the Company is blue collar workers, who make up approximately 52% of the staff.

A reduction in the proportion of blue collar workers can be seen in 2011, which was related to increases in capital construction to ensure the execution of client functions in construction of facilities in the Sochi energy district.

Analysis of the age structure of staff at Kubanenergo shows an increase over the last three years in the proportion of those under 35, which is related to the Company’s policy of recruiting, retaining and consolidation of qualified young specialists. During the recruitment process for vacant positions preference is given to candidates who have completed higher or vocational secondary education.

At 31 December 2011 75.1% of the staff at the Company had vocational secondary or higher professional qualifications, which strengthened the trend to the growth in this category of personnel noted in 2010.

Improving means of production, raising the requirements from qualified workers, an effective system for selection and assessment of candidates, as well as natural generational change leads to drainage of workers with secondary or incomplete secondary education and an inflow into the Company of more qualified specialists. Work carried out to improve the qualitative composition of personnel made it possible to significantly increase the number of workers with vocational secondary or higher education in 2011, including the results of staff training and development schemes.
