The highest volumes in trading in Kubanenergo shares during 2011 were seen on the Micex, where there were 37 186 market transactions with the Company’s shares to a total value of 506.89 million rubles.
The largest trade value of 16.19 million rubles was achieved in February 2011. The lowest level of trading activity was seen in December of the same year, when the volume of transactions concluded for the period was 800 000 rubles.
The behaviour of quotations in Kubanenergo shares at the Micex was characterised by a steady decrease against a background of an overall fall in the Micex index and the Micex Energy index. The main factor affecting the fall in market price of the Company’s shares, in our opinion, was the decision taken by the Government of the Russian Federation on lowering tariffs on transmission of electrical energy services via electricity grids in 2011. During the accounting year the market price of one share in Kubananergo fell by 61%.
Market capitalisation of Kubanenergo at the beginning of 2011 totalled 13.969 billion rubles, and at the end of the year was 6.855 billion rubles.
The significant growth in capitalisation of the Company in the middle of July of the accounting year, by more than 40%, was the result of the increase in equity capital arising from the share offerings made. In August capitalisation reached its previous level because of a fall in the market price of the shares, and thereafter its movements were that same as those of the index of shares of companies in the energy field.
